Key communications tools, such as storytelling and visuals, can help keep your stakeholders and community on the mark and moving forward. The National Collaboration for Youth, which is the longest-standing coalition of national agencies committed to positive youth development, has begun to tackle this challenge and documented the findings in this publication.
The standards are front and center on the national stage as states, districts, schools and teachers prepare for their rollout over the next several years. Many OST programs are trying to figure out what exactly the standards cover, and how to support schools and districts in implementing them.
The brief from the Forum for Youth Investment looks at two initiatives. One, the Credentialed by 26 Community Challenge, helped leaders in four selected communities jump-start local conversations and identify strategies to improve postsecondary success. Among the results: Leaders enlisted more partners committed to increasing postsecondary completion, used new data to inform planning efforts, extended their goals beyond college access to college completion, and strengthened connections between the K-12 and postsecondary systems.
