In the Fall of 2007, the Forum for Youth Investment and the United Way of America (UWA) agreed to work together to provide local United Ways with research-based frameworks, metrics, strategies and tools to ensure that children enter kindergarten ready to succeed and enter the second decade of life ready for success.

This commentary highlights the work of the Collaborative for Building After-School Systems, a collaborative of mature, city and county-wide nonprofit OST intermediaries, to develop and adopt common youth-, program- and system-level measures that are easy and cost-effective for local systems to implement.

Ready by 21 Brings All Michigan Stakeholders on Board

This fall, the Forum partnered with Michigan's Children and the Michigan Shared Youth Vision Partnership as they planned and convened the Michigan Dropout Prevention Leadership Summit, held on October 20 in Lansing, Michigan. The Summit was a part of the America's Promise Alliance's initiative to support all 50 states and the 50 largest cities in addressing the dropout crisis.
