Ever wonder what it takes to narrow the opportunity gap for low-income students and children of color? The Road Map Project Awards Program recently recognized the efforts of 20 programs which do just that in the Seattle area.
One of the finalists was the Youth Program Quality Initiative, developed by the Forum's Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality. The initiative (led by School's Out Washington) has improved instructional quality, shifted organizational culture and changed how organizations train and support staff who work directly with youth.
